Gujarat court sentenced Asaram Bapu to life imprisonment on Tuesday in a 2013 rape case. The court had convicted Asaram in this case on Monday. In the year 2013, Asaram’s disciple had filed a complaint against Asaram and his son Sairam. Two Surat-based sisters had filed rape complaints against Asaram and Narayan Sai. Asaram was accused of physical abuse at Motera Ashram in Ahmedabad. A case was also registered against six other people, including Asaram, in this case.
What was the Whole Case registered in 2013?
In the year 2013, Asaram Bapu was accused of rape by a minor girl from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The minor had said in his allegation that the girl was raped by Asaram on the night of 15 August at the Ashram located in Manai village of Jodhpur. At the same time, a disciple of Asaram living in Surat also accused Bapu that on 6 October, 2013, Asaram Bapu and six others raped her several times. He had alleged that from 2001 to 2006, he was raped several times. She had told that this incident had happened to her when she was living in Asaram’s ashram in Motera. Later, she somehow escaped from there.
Rape with the victim’s younger sister as well
Along with this, the incident of rape was also carried out with the younger sister of the victim, who lives in Surat. The victim’s younger sister had alleged that Asaram’s son Narayan Sai raped her and kept her in illegal confinement. Please tell that in this case Narayan Sai was sentenced to life imprisonment in April 2019. On the other hand, Asaram was sentenced in this case today. A total of 68 witnesses were produced in this case.
Asaram is in jail for the last 9 years
Asaram Bapu is currently lodged in Jodhpur jail in another case. Asaram was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 for rape and other offenses. Some time ago, 80-year-old Asaram, who was suffering from serious ailments, had filed a bail application in the Supreme Court, but the court had rejected his bail application.

The court had found Asaram Bapu guilty under Sections 376, 377, 354, 342, 357, and 506 (2). The court has sentenced life imprisonment under Sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex). Apart from this, one year’s sentence in section 354 (offence of rape by spiritual teacher or teacher), section 342 (wrongful confinement) 6 months’ sentence and 357 (use of force for illegal confinement and assault) sentenced to one year and one year in 506(2) intimidation.
